Chondroitinase AC-I and Chondroitinase B Enzymes
High-activity, high-purity enzymes from native strains of Flavobacterium heparinum
The elimination reaction of these enzymes forms end-chain unsaturated uronic acids that absorb at 232nM; this feature helps monitor substrate depolymerisation and for the analysis of the disaccharide composition of chondroitin sulphate or dermatan sulphate
Enzyme activity is given in international units (IU); one unit of activity is the amount of enzyme that forms 1.0 micromole of unsaturated uronic acid per minute acting on chondroitin sulphate for (AC-I) or dermatan sulphate (for the B enzyme) (see data sheet).
Enzymes are supplied as frozen solutions, stabilised by 0.1% to 0.2% BSA and delivered on dry ice by international courier.
Chondoitinase AC-I degrades chondroitin sulphate A and chondroitin sulphate C
Susecptible Linkages:
GalNAc, (4SO3 or 6 SO3) 1-4 GlcA
enzyme also acts on hyaluronic acid
Chondroitinase B degrades dermatan sulphate acts specifically on the amino sugar-iduronic acid linkage in dermatan sulphate
Susceptible linkage:
GalNAc, 4SO3 1-4 IdoA
